Tour de Moon case study

Following a direct approach from its designers, KB Event were contracted to deliver a unique moon themed experience across a number of towns and cities around the UK during May and June 2022.

The requirements of the project were to provide dedicated vehicles – 2 x Mercedes Sprinter vans pulling two trailers, 2 x 7.5T Flat Rigids and 1 x 26T production truck, which were to be wrapped in the Tour De Moon livery, and moved, from site to site, by a dedicated KB team who would then also install the experience and then assist in its management on site.

The vehicles, sourced specifically for the event, were wrapped according to the Tour’s design, at KB’s head office. The experienced dedicated team – who doubled up as drivers and member of the on site crew – were given a full briefing and training by one of KB’s Tour Transport Operations Manager, before going on to manage the team on the road.

KB’s team quickly became instrumental in the delivery and overall success of the event, with our Transport Manager being elevated to a more senior Production role very soon after the Tour began.

KB Event has provided specialist liveried vehicles and dedicated crew on other events including the Olympic Torch Relay, which required identical vehicle and personnel teams running parallel across Europe in addition to local teams and wrapped vehicles in Cyprus, South Africa and Cairo. The Pride Parade in London where KB provided floats and float personnel for Barclays. The Olympic Hero’s Parade, where KB provided a fleet of BP wrapped vehicles and specially altered flat-bed trailers to carry the 2012 Athletes, and most recently, the late Queen’s Jubilee pageant where KB supplied wrapped vehicles and personnel, for the Saturday Parade.
