The curtain came down on the 2015/16 Panto Season as we loaded out of the very last few theatres at the beginning of February, a job which saw us utilise in excess of 190 trucks from start to finish.
It was then straight on to a very high-profile event in Westminster, where we were working as part of the on-site production team for our client. The ‘Supporting Syria’ summit took place at QEII and Westminster Central Hall and was attended by representatives of 70 countries, including 30 Heads of State or Government – as well as the world’s media. Security was at its highest level which meant all of the trucks had to be scanned, manually searched and checked by police dogs, then sealed and kept in a secure compound before being escorted onto site.
Two events at Gleneagles and in Courcheval for one of the UK’s top event organisers bought us lots of snow (and some amazing views for our drivers!), whilst on the corporate side we got all technical with two huge events in Europe. Ten artics loaded in to the Fira, Barcelona for Mobile World Congress, and another 14 of our trucks headed over to Berlin for Cisco Live 2016.
It was a busy night at the Brit Awards, loading in for the show itself at the O2, and also sending trucks across town for the Warner Music After Party at Freemasons Hall which featured one of the biggest glitterball’s we’ve ever seen . . .
We finished February in style at the annual TPi Awards held at Battersea Evolution. As well as being a production partner supplying trucking for the event, we were also there as guests on the evening and, whilst we may not have won the annual Glow Stick Challenge (we demand a recount!), we had a great time catching up with friends in the form of clients and fellow suppliers, and recognising the work of some of the best in our industry.
